Internet technologies
With the increase in popularity of the Internet, it is becoming more and
more important to understand and provide solutions to "classical"
problems
in the realm of distributed and networked systems, and to leverage
well-established Internet technologies to aid in this process. We are
currently investigating the use of LDAP technology to store, integrate,
and efficiently manage structured and semistructured data (like XML)
found
on the Internet today. Our current system provides support for
distributed
caching and is used in a community of proxy servers to provide better
levels of availability for Web data, let it be classical data, like GIF
images or HTML, or newer data standards like XML.
